Limited Reports Access

ResiDex allows administrators to restrict staff member’s access to certain areas in ResiDex by assigning or not assigning certain user roles. The user roles not only limits what screens the user can access, but also the reports that display in the "Reports" tab. There are times when a user with "Read Only" roles, or very limited roles needs to access and print reports that require additional ResiDex permissions. You do NOT need to grant additional ResiDex roles to allow access to reports.

Report Role Required

ResiDex is loaded with hundreds of reports.  If you are a ResiDex user with many roles, you will have access to many reports.  If you have limited roles, the report list will contain fewer reports. If someone suggests using a certain report and you don't see the report, it is likely you are missing the ResiDex Staff Role required to view the report.

Any person who can see the report name, will be able to find information on what role is required to run the report.

Review Roles for All users

Managing staff roles in ResiDex is very important. As you grow and implement you may wish to reduce roles for several people to "tighten down" security. You can remove roles from a staff member one individual at a time OR you can use the Security Overview Screen.

This screen will also highlight roles that we recommend giving to a few key people due to the  impact they can have on the database.  These are highlighted as "Sensitive Roles".

Staff Multi-Campus Access

If you have more than one building (or "campus") in your ResiDex database, you can control which of your campuses each of your users can access, whether it be one, some (but not all), or all of your campuses.

ResiDex Security

ResiDex stamps every record you create or change with your user-name and records your other activities while you use ResiDex. This is done so it can be easily seen how a record was changed, when, and by whom.

Limited Resident Access

ResiDex's "Limited View of Residents" feature allows certain staff to have RTask access limited to only one or a few residents. This is helpful if you have an outside agency that needs to view information or chart services for individuals, but for whom you would not want to give access to all residents.  Examples might include hospice workers, consultant physicians, therapists, or Medicare/skilled nursing providers.  This can be managed either from desktop Residex or RTasks.

Note:  To ensure compliance with aspects of the HIPAA Privacy Act, each provider should be added to the Staff list by personal name, not as a "XYZ Hospice" provider or "ABC Clinic", even if they represent the same agency or clinic.  Each person should be entered as staff and create their own unique login. Some users may opt to create a provider type 'consultant' that will differentiate these users from staff.   To add a provider type, contact Residex support staff.
